"For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints." (Hebrews 6:10) Do you ever feel like some people just don't understand life in the ministry? Would you enjoy being with others who understand how wonderful, frustrating, fun, rewarding, obnoxious, joyous, fabulous, chaotic, demanding, insane and meaningful life "in the fishbowl" can be? Do you need to celebrate, be celebrated, whine a little, get some insight from others who have gone before you in the struggles and successes? Would you welcome some ideas on how to wear your many hats and juggle the multiple demands of life as a woman, wife, mother, pastor, daughter, sister, teacher, attorney, business woman, accountant, plumber…? Then join us for a Psalm One Ministries Day of Refreshing for Pastors' Wives. This one day retreat is designed to give you a completely safe place to share and be encouraged and celebrated and even pampered a bit. We meet Saturday, November 8 from 10 to 4 in a lovely home on 100 acres of woods and gardens in Oregonia, Ohio (about 10 miles north of Kings Island right off I-71). This gathering is completely casual (jeans and T-shirts instead of dresses and high heels!). Breakfast goodies and a lovely lunch are provided. And you don't have to do anything but show up! We center in on three areas:
Ministry can sometime keep us from really enjoying our walk with Jesus. It has been said that the pastor's wife is the only person in the church without a pastor. Come and revel in some non-ministry, non-demanding, non-"churchy" time with the Lord!
Could you use some healing laughter? Have you gotten a bit lost in the busyness of life? Do you need a little soul care to rediscover yourself? How can we implement strategies and patterns to keep us healthy and happy in the busyness of our lives?
I am part of the Caregivers Forum, an international network of people who minister to people in ministry. Whether you or your friends are seeking time away with your husband, intensive counseling, encouragement in your challenges, whatever--we have some invaluable resources to support you and your friends in ministry. This is for any woman whose husband is in full-time ministry--whether you minister full-time right beside him, are busy with your own demanding career, are raising and home schooling a house full of children, are dealing with the joys and/or sadness of the empty nest…wherever life finds you. There is no such thing as the "typical pastor's wife" and there will be no "Stepford Wives" here. Just great women with whom you can connect and enjoy a day of refreshing, pampering, sharing…whatever God has just for you! So feel free to pass this invitation on to another "PW". We need to know who's coming so we can prepare this day just for you, so RSVP to Linda Kline at 513-339-1342. Questions? Give me a call. When was the last time someone planned a day just to encourage you? Come and be loved on! Blessings, Linda |
