Refocus and Refuel Retreat
My soul, wait in silence for God only,
For my hope is from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be shaken. (Psalm 62:5-7)
Our next Refocus and Refuel Retreat is April 6-8.
Refocus and Refuel Retreat
Could you use some extended quiet time with Jesus? Do you sometimes feel that your time alone with God even at the Days of Refreshing is not enough? You just get started in your communication with the Lord and the bell rings? You begin to trace a theme through Scripture and it's time to return to the rat race? there a question, a burden, an issue that you need to discuss at length with your Father? Would you just enjoy a stretch of uninterrupted peace and quiet alone with Him?
If so, I invite you to join us for an R&R: Refocus and Refuel Retreat. If you have done this before, you know how it pays off in transforming ways. I need to take a time like this often to keep my priorities and perspective straight. Anyone who longs to draw near to Jesus is welcome--both men and women!
A Refocus and Refuel Retreat is a actually a “semi-silent” retreat. We may open with time in the Word and heart preparation, close in time in the Word and prayer, and we fellowship and laugh over meals. In between, however, we commit to complete silence, so you can enjoy long, uninterrupted times of study, prayer, meditation on the Word, journaling, just sitting at the Lord's feet and resting in His presence.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. Psalm 23:2
If you've never done anything like this before, don't be intimidated! We will have guides and spiritual direction as needed to help you enter in. No monk experience required. No vow of poverty. No head shaving. No chanting. Just life-giving time with the Shepherd. You will be surprised at how it renews the mind and spirit to pull away like this.
And He said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while." (For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.) (Mark 6:31)
Group solitude and silence? Isn't that a contradiction in terms? How many times have you intended to set a aside a day or more to spend with God, only to have it crowded out by last minute plans, "emergencies" or invitations. Or you actually get started, but quickly become distracted and derailed? Having some guidance, some structure and the accountability of others who are seeking God in silence helps so much. You're not likely to turn on the TV or make a Wal-Mart run when surrounded by people enjoying the Word and prayer. The time with Jesus is so wonderful, but the encouragement, support and prayer of others who are also seeking to draw near is a special added bonus!
You will be surprised at how it renews the mind and spirit to pull away like this. I hope you can join us as we Refocus and Refeuel. Come along to refocus, refuel, rest, reboot, revel, relax, recollect, reconsider, revive, return, recommit, remember, receive, recover and rejoice in Jesus!
This retreat is for men and women. It is esepcially helpful and life-giving for those in vocational ministry.
Space is limited, so reserve your spot by sending a check for $130 (payable to Psalm One Ministries) to Linda Kline.
